The site sits among olive groves in the shadow of mountains that have looked like sleeping figures for as long as anyone can remember. Vast ridgelines, unmistakably human in form, lying still against the sky. These are the giants the festival is named for.

Just down the road is El Torcal de Antequera, one of the most extraordinary natural landscapes in Europe. Limestone formations stacked and shaped over millions of years into figures that look remarkably like people frozen in time. It is worth a visit if you have a free afternoon.

Walking through this landscape, you get the feeling it has been waiting for something.

Surrounded by Ancient Giants

In the Heart of Andalucía

The site sits at the geographical centre of one of the most historically rich regions in the world. Granada, Córdoba and Sevilla, three of the great cities of Andalucía, are each within an hour. Málaga and its coast are 45 minutes in the other direction.

If you are travelling from abroad, we would encourage you to treat Sleeping Giants as the centrepiece of a longer trip. The Alhambra in Granada, the Mezquita in Córdoba, the old city of Sevilla. These are places worth seeing.

Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania, with a water canal and pink flowering trees in the foreground under a partly cloudy sky.
View of an ornate palace courtyard with intricately decorated arches, columns, and a fountain, featuring lush green plants and visitors in the background.
Interior view of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, featuring multiple red and white striped horseshoe arches supported by columns.

What to Expect
at the Festival Grounds

This is a farm in the Andalucían campo. The ground is sun-baked and uneven in places, the terrain is authentic, and the wildlife is very much part of daily life. Insects, birds, and the occasional four-legged visitor come with the territory.

September here is something special. The fierce heat of summer has softened into warm golden days, and the evenings cool down gently as the Equinox approaches. It is about as good as outdoor festival weather gets.

Come prepared for a rustic experience. It will not feel like a polished resort and it is not meant to. That is precisely the point.
